As a natural place, Bengkulu city have many forest conservation:

1. Preserve of Danau Dusun Besar

Preserve of Danau Dusun Besar is located about 7 kilometers from downtown of Bengkulu. Its broadness about 577 Hectares (based of Decree Indonesian Forestry Minister: SK Menhut No. 6027 Kpts—11/92 tgl 10 Juni 1992). Tourism object on this area is Dendam Tak Sudah Lake, Fishing and lake boating. In the area life a scarce plant that’s called Pencil Orchid (Vanda Hookeriana).

To visit this location, you can use public transportation about 30 minutes from Bengkulu city.

 

2. Tourism Forest of Pantai Panjang and Pulau Baai

The location of this forest is on south side of Bengkulu city. Pantai Panjang forest located about 3 kms from downtown of Bengkulu city, and the Pulau Baai tourism forest located about 12 kms. In Pantai Panjang we can see the Mice Island. You can swimming, fishing, sunbathing or just view around. Its area broadness about 1,265.3 Hectares (based SK TGHK Menhut No. 383/Kpts-II/1985 tanggal 27 Desember 1985.

3. Forest Tourism Pungguk Menakat

Pungguk Menakat forest that is called TAHURA (Taman Hutan Raya), is located in Muara Bangkahulu district. Based on SK Menhut No. 218/Kpts-II/1991 its have wide area about 1,122 hectares. This forest is functioned for Collection Garden that’s use to research about plants, livestock and forestry.
